PPP IS NEED OF HOUR: Minister Roshan Baig in Jeddah, KSA

Jeddah, Nov 20, 2014: The Indian community of Karnataka state residing in Jeddah, KSA had recently felicitated the Hajj, Information and Infrastructure Development Minister Roshan Baig at the Inauguration Ceremony of Karnataka Noble Trophy Cricket Tournament at Jeddah under the banner of Karnataka NRI Forum Jeddah and Jamiyyatul Falah Jeddah which is scheduled to begin from 27th of this month and conclude with final match on 5th December 2014.

 

Speaking at the gathering the minister appreciated the social activities initiated by Karnataka NRI Forum and Jamiyyatul Falah and said NRI peoples from Karnataka State have spread around the globe, our state need the Public Private Partnership on various projects of State Government and appreciated the NRI community of neighboring state Kerala which they have set an example to the entire country. Big business mans and other NRI peoples invested in the state which remarkably brought up the state budget and diversified development took place. Our peoples residing in various places of the world should think of roots and should come forward to develop the mother land. Mr. Baig said, the Mangaluru Airport Runway expansion project is very big challenging and need greater support from NRI community in PPP method.

 

He expressed his happiness of restart of Kuvait-Mangalore flight, and he mentioned efforts put by Mangalore MLA J.R.LOBO and others.

The gesture from the Hajj Minister in the event was highly motivated the gathered members that instead of delivering Chief Guest speech, Mr. Baig ask the peoples, What are your problems which you face in this part of  the world, How you expect the state government to help in solving your problems? Anticipating the support from the minister Baig, several problems were put forward and was addressed accordingly by him. Mr. Baig also highlighted the new schemes and developmental projects initiated by the State Government recently.

 

The following are the some of main issues addressed by Mr. Baig:

- Direct flight from Mangaluru to Jeddah and Riyadh

- CET facilities to NRI students

- Expansion of Runway at Mangaluru International Airport

- Nitaqat hit peoples issues in Jeddah

- Support services from Consulate office at Jeddah extended to Kannadigas

- Harassment facing from Gulf bound passengers at Bengaluru International Airport 

- Acceptance of Indian Passport issued outside India at Government offices as Address proof

- Promoting of State Tourism and Medical Tourism in KSA

- Aims to start Overseas Affairs Ministry under state government

- Functioning of NRI Community Welfare Cell

- State Government schemes for Blue Color Labor category NRIs 

 

Honorable Minister thanked Custodian of the two holy mosques King Abdullah and authorities of government of Saudi Arabia for giving third time opportunity to attend Gusle Kaaba and said he is always available to help and sort the problems of NRIs whenever they approach.

 

Roshan Rodrigues, president of KNRI forum, officially welcomed honorable minister and highlighted the aims and objectives of Karnataka NRI Forum and Jamiyatul Falah which is striving hard to help poor and needy persons in Karnataka for the education and medical treatment. Mr. Roshan also informed the Chief Guest, problems faced by Kannadigas which were resolved by KNRI Forum during nitaqath program with the help of Indian Consulate.

 

Ex president of the KNRI Forum Mohammed Mansour and President of Jamiyatul Falah  Mohammed Shafi honored bouquet to the chief guest as a token of appreciation. While speaking Mr. Mansour requested honorable minister to intervene and make necessary arrangements especially for the direct flight from Jeddah to Mangaluru.   

 

On behalf of KNRI Forum and Jamiyatul Falah vote of thanks was delivered by General Secretary Syed Nasir Khursheed, he thanked Honorable Minister Roshan Baig for sparing time with Karnataka community; he expressed deep sense of appreciation for the efforts of Zameer shaha, Waseem Ahmed Khan, Saleem Ahmed Khan, Syed  Shakeel Ahmed and Mukkaram Ahmed Khan for making necessary arrangement for the event. Shaikh Saoud, Coordinator KNRI Forum conducted the program.
