Bantwal: 1,799 cases of Peoples grievances cleared during Janata Darshan

Bantwal, Nov 20, 2014: The state government aims at self sufficiency, equality and progress. It has been organizing Janata Darshan, peoples-interactive meet in each taluk centers across the state with the objective of bringing social justice to all strata of people. It will improve the efficiency of local administration and bring the people on the lower-rung to the mainstream of society, said the state forests and DK district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai.
The minister Rai was speaking during the inaugural function of Janata Darshan held in front of TP headquarter, B C Road, here on Wednesday November 19.
‘We cannot forget the history because it has great many lessons to teach us,’ said minister Rai. He recalled the memory of the former PM the late Indira Gandhi who had introduced 20-Point Programmes including Land Reforms in order to bring justice to landless farmers. The social concern of Indira Gandhi is what motivated the government to implement housing sites and homes for homeless, added minister Rai.
The minister Rai further said that the former PM Dr Manmohan Singh has proved that one can deliver the results without much publicity, said minister Rai.
DK zilla panchayat president Asha Timmappa Gowda, town councilor Vasanti Chandappa, deputy councilor Yasmeen, TP president Yashwant Deraje, vice president Vilasini, steering Committee president Ida Suresh, Dakshina Kannada DC A B Ibrahim, ZP CEO Tulasi Maddineni, SP Dr Sharanappa, ZP members Chandraprakash Shetty Thumbay, M S Mohammed, Mamata Gatti, Santosh Kumar Rai and Chennappa Kotian, leaders Padmashekar Jain, Mayilappa Salian, Abbas Ali, Padmashekar Jain and Sudarshan Jain were present.
Mangalore municipal assistant commissioner Ashok welcomed the gathering. Tahsildar B S Malleswamy proposed vote of thanks. Ramachandra Rao and Gurunat Bagewady compered the programme.
The birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi was celebrated on the same occasion.
SP Dr Sharanappa administered the oath of national integrity.
