Beltangady, Nov 19, 2014: The exhibition is informative, entertaining and works as a medium to develop knowledge faster, said Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner (DC) A B Ibrahim.
DC Ibrahim was speaking after inaugurating state-level exhibition that was organized by Sri Kshetra Dharmastala as part of Lakshadeepotsav celebrations at SDM High School premises, here on Tuesday November 18.
It was a practice in the earlier times, to keep the knowledge within the elite class in the society. Meanwhile, its owing to technological and scientific innovations in modern times, even the ordinary-folks too have ample opportunities to enhance their knowledge by various means. The common-man had to get info and guidance through these means in availing government facilities and social welfare organizes, in order to achieve progress in every sphere of life, advised DC Ibrahim.
DC Ibrahim lauded the contributions of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade in the sphere of health, education and rural development.
Veerendra Heggade in his presidential address said that Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala follows discipline and efficient management in free dining facilities to pilgrims, education, healthcare and charity. Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) has been actively involved in taking the state benefits to the doorstep of common man. There are many people who still having no knowledge about state facilities, while the attempt has been made to educate the people during the exhibition, said Heggade.
There are over 194 stalls of farming, trade, banking, education, employment etc at the exhibition.
SDM Education Society vice president Professor S Prabhakar, D Harshendra Kumar, T P Jagdishmurti, senior Bank officer Amaranat Hegde were present on the occasion.
