Mangaluru: CM Siddaramaiah warns stern action against communalists & extremists

Mangaluru, 03 Nov 2014: The Chief Minister Siddaramaiah here on Sunday November 3 warned that the government will take stern action against the acts of extremism and communalism with an iron fist irrespective of political pressures and monetary influence.

 

CM Siddaramaiah was speaking after inaugurating the valedictory of Karnataka Yatre with the theme ‘Respect for mankind’ organized by the Karnataka Sunni Student’s Federation (SSF) on the occasion of its silver jubilee at Nehru maidan here on Sunday.

 

CM Siddaramaiah said, ‘Everyone in India should fight against terrorism and communalism. Terrorism is a serious hurdle for the growth of nation. We see many people killed in the act of terrorism. Abubaker has condemned terrorist’s activities. All Muslims should unite and fight against terrorism and communalism. Despite the growth in education, terrorist’s activities are increasing. Terrorism spoils the peace of nation. We will handle terrorism without succumbing to anybody’s pressure. Our motto is to give equal opportunity and equality as per Indian constitution.’

 

 

CM Siddaramaiah further promised to work for the prosperity of the state and transparent governance in the state.

 

Sulthanul Ulama A P Abubaker Musliar in his introductory address, called on fellow Muslims to respect of the integrity of India.

 

Abubaker said, ‘India is our country. We have to protect our diversity and fight against terrorism and communalism. We don’t need Muslims from outside India to worry about the internal security of Muslims in India. Internal security has been secured by constitutions of India and we believe in it. In Kerala, posters, notices and bills are promoting extremism and terrorism which is a conspiracy to defame Islam and transparent investigation should be carried out.’

 

The state minister U T Khader, MLAs, Swami Vishwesha of Pejawar mutt, Milagres parish priest Fr Valerian D’Souza and other religious leaders were present.

 

All India Muslim Scholars’ Association general secretary Sultanul Ulama A P Abubaker Musliar Kanthapuram led the Yatre for about 2,700 kilometres from Kalaburgi to Mangaluru in 9-day spreading the message of harmony as a part of the silver Jubilee celebration which culminated in the city.
