Mangalore: Social Justice Denied to Few Sects of Society - Minister Rai

Mangalore, 10 Oct 2014: The state minister for forests/ecology and DK district in-charge minister B Ramanat Rai said that a few sects of society have been denied the social justice, hence there is need to work in this regard.
The minister Rai was speaking after inaugurating Valmiki Jayanti celebration at Netravati auditorium of Zilla Panchayat here on Wednesday October 8.
He said, ‘The people of Kuruba (shepherd) community who rear the livestock spends most of its time in the forest has been denied of many facilities. It comes to the list of few sects in the society which are denied of social justice, therefore, a lot of work needs to be done to provide them the reservation and other facilities.’
The minister for sports and youth empowerment Abayachandra Jain gave a call to lead a life of peace andf harmony irrespective of faith, caste and creed.
Mangalore south MLA J R Lobo presided the programme.
Mangalore north MLA Moideen Bawa, DC A B Ibrahim, ZP CEO Tulasi Maddineni, SP Sharanappa, Valmika – Nayaka Association district president K Haleshappa and others were present on the occasion.
