Greedy GP chief forges mother’s signature to gobble up old age pension
Puttur, 03 Oct 2014: The elected representatives are expected to be role models for the society. But, unfortunately our elected representatives are caught in one shameful controversy or the other. Joining the wagon is the President of Kaniyoor Gram Panchayat, whose own brothers have lodged a complaint against him with revenue officials of allegedly procuring old age pension in his mother’s name, without her knowledge. The said GP Chief has forged the signature of his mother to avail the benefit for which his mother is not eligible, it is said.
The accused is Dinesh and in a complaint his brothers Harish and Jagadish have said that Dinesh had forged documents and signature to avail old age pension in the name of their mother Devaki, who was being taken good care of by the family.
The complainants have further said that Kadaba Tahshildar seems to have approved the application for old age pension without scrutinising the documents submitted before him.
The complaint states that the old age pension rules clearly state that the monetary support cannot be extended to any applicant who has sons. But, in this particular case, Devaki has three sons.
Complaints have also been lodged with the Tahsildar and Puttur Assistant Commissioner seeking action against the GP Chief as well as the Kadaba Tahsildar.
It is learnt, the old age pension of Rs 400 is being remitted to Devaki’s bank account since 2011.
