Karkal: Cricketer Ravi Shastry Visits Vishnumurti temple

Karkal, 24 Sep 2014: The former Indian all-rounder and commentator Ravi Shastry visited Vishnumurti temple at Karvalu, about 15 kilometres from here on Tuesday September 22.
Ravi Shastry offered special puja at the temple also visited Nagaban, conserved forest in the precinct of temple.
The temple governing council president Chandrashekar Hegde honoured Ravi Shastry on behalf of the natives of Karavalu village.
Speaking on the occasion, Shastry expressed happiness and said, ‘Karvalu is an unique place for me. I come here once a year and I get the peace of mind. I am thankful to the God and the village for all the gifts,’ said Shastry.
This is the seventh successive visit of Shastry to Karavalu. His forefathers hailed from this village. When he did not have the gift of children, he was told to come to this place and pray. Following the words, he had come here and had received the gift of a child.
Shastry has been visiting his ancestral village since 2007.
