Mangalore: Police nab 2 inter-state burglars, recover gold worth Rs 8.5 lac

Mangalore, Sep 24, 2014: SP Dr Shanaranappa here on Tuesday September 23 addressed the media conference to brief on arresting 2 notorious inter-state burglars who were involved in over 14 burglary cases in taluks of Puttur, Sullia and Mangalore in Karnataka, Kasargod district of Kerala.
Puttur police arrested the duos near Arlapadav at the limits of Puttur rural police station on Tuesday September 23, whilst riding their motorcycles.
The arrested were identified as twenty-three-year-old P A Ahmed Kabir, a native of Chettanchal in Kasargod district and thirty-year-old Sajuddin alias Farooq, a native of Mangad in Kasargod district of Kerala.
The police recovered gold ornaments weighing 304 grams worth Rs 8.5 lac and a bike worth Rs 50,000 from the accused. They already spent the cash they had stolen, said SP Dr Sharanappa.
The accused are involved in 4 burglary cases registered at Puttur town police station, 3 cases at Puttur rural police station, 2 cases at Sullia police station, 1 case at Kadri police station in Mangalore and 4 cases different police stations of Kasargod district.
The operation was carried out under the direction of SP Dr Sharanappa, additional SP T P Shivakumar, Puttur sub-divisional ACP H D Mendonca, and led by Puttur town police inspector Manjayya B K, Puttur rural police sub-inspector Jagadish Reddy R and town police sub-inspector Abdul Khader and other police personnel.
