Mangalore: Minister U T Khader launches Jyoti Sanjeevini Life Insurance Scheme for teachers

Mangalore, Sep 6, 2014 : The state health and family welfare minister U T Khader launched Jyoti Sanjeevini Life Insurance scheme for the teachers, by handing over copy of the government order to Mangalore south block education officer (BEO) Jnanesh during Teachers’ Day celebrations held at A B Shetty Memorial hall, here on Friday September 6.
Speaking on the occasion, minister U T Khader said, ‘I feel extremely happy to participate in this ceremony. Along with my parents, my teachers were the ones who shaped me to take up many responsibilities in my life. The duty of a teacher is always appreciable because they nurture the school children like their own. Hence role of a teacher in shaping a society is important. Along with this the teachers should also educate children to maintain hygiene to prevent the diseases,’ said minister U T Khader.
‘Education should be imparted to everyone in the society. It is only because of the dedication and tireless efforts of the teachers, we have been able to achieve 100 percent literacy in our district,’ said minister U T Khader.
BEO Jnanesh appreciated the commitment of minster U T Khader in fulfilling his promise. He said, ‘Its during Teachers’ Day celebrations – 2013, minister U T Khader had promised to sanction the insurance scheme by this year’s Teachers’ Day function and this morning he has brought the copy of the government’s order. We thank him on behalf of all the teachers and we request him to include the teachers of aided schools and non-aided schools to this scheme as of now the scheme covers only the teachers of state-run schools.’
ZP vice president Satish Kumpala, Mangalore TP president Rajani, CEO Vishwanath Poojary and others were present on the occasion.

The life insurance scheme - Jyoti Sanjeevini provides free life insurance cover to the teachers of the government schools along with the free treatment of 7 major diseases in major hospitals of district.
