Udupi: 9-Day novena ahead of feast of Nativity of Mother Mary begins

Udupi, 30 Aug 2014: The nine-day novena ahead of feast of Nativity of Mother Mary began across diocese here on Saturday August 30.

 

The children offered flowers at different parishes during novena on Saturday morning.

 

The Catholics of erstwhile South Canara celebrate the fest of Nativity of Mother Mary by thanking the mother nature for abundance of crop and having the chosen new dishes made out of freshly harvested crop on September 8 every year.

 

 

The students of St Mary’s English Medium School, Kannarpady, here offered the flowers in honor of Infant Mary during novena service.  It’s significant that its being performed at the school since several years.

 

The School correspondent and Mother of Sorrows parish priest Fr Fredrick Mascarenhas, head teacher Martel Lewis led the novena service.
