Mangalore: SJEC Women Chess Team wins VTU Inter-Zone Tournament

Mangalore, 29 Aug 2014: The women chess team of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC) here, led by Riyola Vela D’ Souza, won the VTU - rest of Bangalore zone and inter-zone chess tournament organized by VTU - regional office, Mysore and CIT - Bangalore, from August 21 to August 26. SJEC is winning this coveted tournament for the sixth consecutive time.

 

 

Riyola Vela D’ Souza, won the second board prize in inter-zone chess championship (team captain)

Chrisel Ann Pais, won the third board prize in rest of Bangalore zone and inter-zone chess championship

Roshin Jacob, won the fourth board prize in inter-zone chess championship

Swathi G M, was the first board player.

Pratheeksha Poonja was the reserve board player.
