Team Mangalore to fly Mangalorean colours in France on Sep 6 to 14

Mangalore, Aug 27, 2014: The Team Mangalore, city based amateur kite flying team has been invited to participate in the International Kite Festival scheduled to be held in Dieppe, France as the guest of honour from India beginning from September 6 to September 14.
The Team Mangalore founder Sarvesh Rao, addressing the media persons here on Tuesday August 26 said, ‘The team Mangalore has been invited by the mayor of Dieppe Sebastian Jumail, as the guest of honour to participate from India. This is an honour to all the Mangaloreans and the people of our country since for the first time in the history of the Kite Festivals this honour has not been given to any team of our country,’ said Sarvesh.
The special creations of the Team Mangalore for the International Kite Festival are ‘Vibhishana’ and ‘Sangama’ which are specially prepared for the festival, designed by Dinesh Holla, Sarvesh rao, Satish Rao and Pranesh. Vibhishana depicts a character of Ramayana. An appliqué kite with the height of 30 feet and width of 9 feet and the kite Sangama is a hexagon shaped 6-sided kite with the height of 9-feet and width is expected to attract the kite enthusiasts. The artistic theme for the 2014 festival is luminescence, which will be highlighted in the kite ‘Surya’ of the team.
Along with this, an exhibition of portraits of Dinesh Holla will also be held and the team will showcase the rich tradition of Mangalore through a documentary every evening at the Festival from 4.00pm to 5.00pm, added Sarvesh.
