Beltangady: Optimum use of Govt facilities can alleviate rural poverty - Heggade

Beltangady, 30 Sep 2016: The rural folks have 2 types of deficiencies. First being the economic backwardness that got to be tackled with steady measures and follow ups. The second being the stumbling block of their mindset that got to be tackled by educating them on state facilities for their own empowerment. The rural folks have several programmes implemented by both union and state governments that got to be availed by them. It’s irony that their mindset has not been changed because of lack of information. Sri Kshetra Dharmastala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) and Rural Development and Self Employment Training (RUDSET) Institutes are doing their yeomen service in enlightening the rural folks to shun the mental block in empowering themselves, said Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade.    

 

Heggade was speaking during 3rd Banking and Economic Convention, themed, Laying foundation for India’s development that was organized by State Bank of India at Mumbai, from Tuesday, September 27 to Wednesday, September 28.

 

 

Heggade was the resource persons at the symposium on Hike in rural turnout and improving human index, presented critical issues of rural people. ‘The water supply is critical than building toilets,’ said Heggade. He explained the economists how the farmers are suffering because of volatile market for farm produce than striving to increase agri produce. 

 

The farming advisor for Israel Manecchand Dinar and NABARD chairman Dr Harshakumar Banwala also delivered talk on the occasion.  

 

Earlier, the union finance minister Arun Jaitley after inaugurating the Convention explained the measures taken by the union government to increase the financial assistance for rural development. The union government is committed to address the national issues apolitically. The ratification of GST is the testimony in this regard, said minister Jaitley.

 

The top Bank officer, entrepreneurs attended the convention.

 

Heggade, State Bank of India chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya, Dr Harshakumar Banwala and others shared their views on the occasion.
