Program on women’s empowerment

 

Manipal, 25 Aug 2016: Mount Rosary Stree Sanghatan organized a programon “Women’s empowerment – the need of the Hour”on August 21, 2016 at Mount Rosary Church Hall, Kallianpur.

 

The program began with prayer song by thechoir of Mount Rosary. Mrs. Hilda Cornelio President, Mount Rosary StreeSanghatan and coordinator of the Program welcomed the gathering, Rev. Fr. Anil Fernandes, as Chief Guest blessed the Program. Shaila A J, Assistant General Manager Syndicate Bank, Regional Office, Fr. Nelson Furtado, Spiritual Director, Varado, Dr. Smita, Professor, School of Management, Manipal University, Mrs. Beena Lewis, Treasurer, Stree Sanghatan Kendra were also present at this programme.

 

 

The resource persons were RenuJayaram, Managing Partner, Jayadev Motors spoke on women how to come out from their comfort zone and how to balance employment and her family. Dr. Gauri, Paediatric consultant, Sonia Clinic she spoke on, “A mother and grandmother as a counsellor for children and youth”.

 

She also delivered on the physical growth of the children when they are in teenage and also informed that Parents should make aware to children about the physical change in their body. And, Lumen Shawn Lobo, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce gave the ideas of Employment Opportunities for women and also explained on qualifications required and how to go further.

 

Mrs. Clara Rego proposed vote of thanks, Mrs. Anita Quadros presented the program. About 150 - 200 people availed this benefit. Program ended with lunch to the invitees.
