Mangaluru: Gratia 2016 – Celebration of Placement Season held at SJEC

Mangaluru, 17 May 2016: Gratia 2016 – annual event celebrating the successful completion of yet another Campus Placement Season at St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Vamanjoor, here was held recently.

 

 

The event witnessed the felicitation of the campus placement team led by Sangeeta Ferrao by the management – SJEC. Placed students shared their experiences with their juniors. The campus placements at SJEC have shown a significant rise with 336 students obtaining Job placements in various Companies at the ongoing placement season for 2015-2016. This year also witnessed the participation of SAP Labs India, which offered the highest annual salary package of 9 Lakhs among V.T.U Colleges in Mangaluru region. Out of the ten students selected from Mangaluru region by SAP Labs, three students were from SJEC. This year also marked the beginning of international placements at SJEC with Gulf Contracting Company – Qatar recruiting two students from SJEC.

 

Another significant achievement for SJEC was the recruitment of Vignesh Aithal, final year electronics and communication engineering student at SJEC, by Cadence India, who is the only student selected among more than 500 students from more than 16 colleges in and around Mangaluru. TCS with 67 students, TechMahindra with 32 students, and IBM with 24 students, are the top recruiters at SJEC this year. This year witnessed a substantial increase in the number of participating companies, with more than 35 companies conducting placement drives.
