Thumbay villagers lay seizure to water treatment plant

Bantwal, 08 March 2016: The local residents of Thumbay laid the seizure to drinking water treatment plant located in their village on Monday March 7, to condemn Mangaluru civic officers for demolishing the compound walls of 3 houses without any intimation to the local village council.

 

 

The compound walls built on the properties of Manorama, Arif and Ashraf at Thumbay village above the drinking water pipelines that supply the water to Mangaluru city, without informing the local village council before undertaking the demolition, alleged the protesters.

 

The protest was led by former MLA Padmanabha Kottary, ZP member Ravindra Kambali, TP member Ganesh Suvarna, Thumbay gram panchayat vice president Praveen B, former president Mohammed Valavoor and others.
