DYFI urges district admin to award adequate compensation for victims of land acquisiti

Mangaluru, 08 Jan 2016: DYFI Dakshina Kannada district Committee alleged that the district authorities are causing injustice to the likely victims of land acquisition in Siddartha Nagar that comes under the limits of Malavoor gram panchayat, near here for setting up residential quarters to Indian Coastguard, by offering just Rs 4,000 per cent of land that is worth several lac of rupees and drive the families into the street.

 

 

The likely victims are subjected to unscientific valuation of lands that lies besides Old Airport terminal, here in the land acquisition process. Twenty-five families are living in the area among which the house of a certain Maria has been demolished using earthmovers. DYFI district vice president B K Imtiyaz and secretary Santosh Bajal held talks with the victims about future course of action at the spot.
