Bantwal: Rev officials raid illegal sand mining on Netravati River at Panemangaluru

Bantwal, 11 Sep 2015: Tahsildar-led revenue officials accompanied by policemen raided the illegal sand mining on the banks of Netravati River beneath Panemangaluru bridge here on Thursday September 10 morning.

 

The policemen seized 5 trucks, 1 earthmover and also huge quantity of sand stored besides the shore.

 

 

Tahsildar Purandar Hegde had warned the illegal miners 2 days ago by personally visiting the location, but they did not heeded to his requests.

 

The truck drivers and labourers fled the scene when they saw officials approaching the location.

 

The seized trucks and earthmover is parked in the police station compound.
