Udupi: Clash between migrant labourers kills 1

 

Udupi, 08 Jul 2015: In a clash between two groups of migrant labourers at Shirur Muddumane here, an Assamese youth was killed. The deceased is identified as Mahendraraj Bonsi, 22. A dispute erupted between two groups of migrant labours over job opportunities in that area, but ended in a clash resulting in murder of the 22-year-old youth.

 

Many labourers from Assam were working on daily wages at Shirur Muddumane and nearby Mandarti village. Bonsi and three others, working at Mandarti, had gone to Shirur to talk on the dispute that took place, during which the youth was attacked with a sickle by the rival group. Despite being rushed to the hospital immediately, he succumbed to injuries, said an police official.
