B’’day celebration: 18 kids take ill after eating chocolates

 

Kasargod, 19 Dec 2014: Eighteen students of Class II of  St Thomas U P School, Kolangana, fell ill after eating chocolates during the birthday celebration of their classmate on Thursday, December 18.

 

Few students vomited after consuming the chocolates while others complained of nausea and giddiness.

 

The students who were rushed to Kasargod General Hospital were discharged later.

 

The health inspector who visited the school went to the shop from where the chocolate was purchased and collected samples. The samples were then sent to the laboratory at Calicut for testing.

 

The health inspector suspected that either the chocolate was laced with drugs or was an old stock. However these questions will be answered only after test results which will come after one week.

 

A case has been registered in the police station.
