SPDI protests for basic amenities in Bengre – Tannirbavi

Mangalore, 01 Nov 2014: The Bengre ward unit of SDPI staged a protest in front of the DC office here on Friday October 31, urging the district administration to improve the basic amenities in its ward limits.
 
 
Addressing the protesters, SDPI – labor wing state secretary Abdul Jaleel laid emphasis on improving basic amenities at Bengre – Tannibavi ward.
 
 
Abdul Jaleel said, ‘Even though the ward comes under the municipal limits, no improvement has taken place when it come to the basic facilities of the ward are concerned. When one walks on the road you get the feeling that it’s worse than the rural areas.

 

 
Due to the open gutters, the effluents flow on the road causing health hazards on the people living nearby.  Many people living in this ward are daily wagers and have no proper land records.  The state funds are sanctioned to develop infrastructural facilities on the city beaches but none cares for basic facilities of this ward, said Abdul Jaleel.
 
 
 
Abdul Jaleel cautioned that if the situation remains the same, SDPI will stage sit-in in front of the residence of Mangalore south MLA and Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge minister, cautioned Abdul Jaleel.
 
 
SDPI Bengre – Tannirbavi ward president Razak Bengre and others were present on the occasion.

 
The protesters later submitted a memorandum to Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim through ADC Sadasiv Prabhu in this regard.
