M’lore: Mother and Newborn Dies owing to Negligence of Doctors at Lady Goschen Hospital

Mangalore, 24 Oct  2013 : The family lodged a complaint with Bunder police station here alleging the negligence of doctors and staff of state-run Lady Goschen Hospital here where mother and newborn babies died.  The hospital is always in controversy over deaths of several newborns and woman at birth.  

The complainant stated that the newborn died within 2 days of delivery and the mother passed away within a week after giving birth at the hospital, alleging the negligence of state-run hospital.

 

Prema

Eight-month pregnant woman Prema, wife of Madhav, residents of Yelinge village was admitted at Lady Goschen Hospital here on October 15.  She delivered a healthy baby after the nurses administered injections.  The baby and mother were found healthy, while after 2 days, the baby developed complication and died.  Meanwhile, Prema complained of omitting and became critically ill.  In spiteof the family was ready to take Prema for higher treatment in a private hospital, the medical officer of Lady Goschen forced them to take her to state-run Wenlock Hospital where she passed away owing to both kidney failures.

The family lodged a complaint at the police alleging the negligence of doctors and staff of state-run hospitals and also threatened the medical officer.
