Kundapur: Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Shankaranarayana – Halady Unit Inaugurated

Kundapur, 7 Jul 2013: It’s tragic that the natives of Karnataka have to stage struggle in order to sustain mother tongue Kannada, its lands and water bodies.  It proves the lack of love towards Kannada among its natives.  If the authorities have made Kannada medium mandatory in primary schools; it would have created sustenance.  It exemplifies the need to collectively strive towards sustaining Kannada, in spite of the need to converse in other languages, said Udupi district Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Nilavar Surendra Adiga.

Adigta was speaking after inaugurating newly-opened Shankaranarayana – Halady unit of Kannada Sahitya Parishat that was organized at the joint aegis of Udupi district Kannada Sahitya Parishat and its Kundapur taluk unit here on Saturday July 6.
Siddapura – Saraswati Vidyalaya correspondent and entrepreneur D Gopalakrishna Kamat was the chief guest.

 

Kamath conveyed best wishes for the newly-opened Kannada Sahitya Parishat unit in the rural area of Shankaranarayana – Halady, in sustaining Kannada and its distinct culture. 

The lawyer Raghavendra Charna Navada also conveyed best wishes.

Kundapur taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Kundapur Narayan Karvi presided the programe. The new-unit treasurer Raghu Hegde Mavinakudlu was present at the dais. 

 
Shankaranarayana – Halady unit of Kannada Sahitya Parishat joint secretary S Dayanand Rao welcomed the gathering.  The secretary Subramanya Ithal proposed vote of thanks.  The lecturer Ganapati Hegde compered the programme.
