Kundapur: Household Fire Destroys Omni Car, Refrigerator, Cow-Shelter at Kedoor

Kundapur, 25 Feb 2013: A Maruti Omni car that was parked inside the compound in Kedoor – Mudukedoor, near Tekkatte, here was gutted in an accidental fire on Saturday February 23 evening.  A refrigerator and bay that was stored in nearby stockyard also destroyed in fire, besides 2 cows died in nearby cow-shelter. 

 

 
The accidental fire was ignited by short circuit in the refrigerator that was placed in the courtyard of Rama Poojary, residing at Kedoor, near here at about 5.00pm on Saturday.  The accidental fire spread to Omni car and nearby cow-pen. The bay stored in loft of cow-pen was fully gutted in fire.  Two cows that were in the cow-pen died. 

Sources informed that Rama Poojary was alone during the incident.  Despite the neighbours rushed to extinguish the fire, they were helpless due to high flames threatening their own lives.  The fire brigade arrived at the spot and fully extinguished the fire.
Kota policemen, Kedoor gram panchayat PDO and others visited the spot.
