Kundapur: Car and goods Tempo collision claims one life

Kundapur, 18 Feb 2013: One person was killed on the spot on N66 at Nagoor when the car he was travelling rammed into a goods Tempo here on Sunday February 17.
The deceased has been identified as Sandesh Kharvi, resident of Kharvikeri, Kundapur. The Maruti Omni that he was in and proceeding towards Kundapur, and the goods Tempo that rammed into it was heading towards Byndoor.
Sandesh Kharvi along with his friends Prashanth Kharvi, Prasad Kharvi, Akash Kharvi, Sunil Kharvi, Sanath Kharvi and Ritesh Mestha last night had been to Honnavara in Maruti Omni to watch a Kabbadi Tournament. Since the tournament was cancelled due to heavy rains, they were all returning home at 3am from Honnavar. Their car moving at high speed hit the tempo at Nagoor, and due to the impact the car was totally damaged.
Prasad and Prashanth have been admitted to KMC Hospital and are undergoing medical treatment. Sandesh being the brother of Social Worker Nagaraj Kharvi was into fishing business. The last rites of Sandesh was held in Babbu Kudru, where lots of people attended the funeral.
A case has been registered in Byndoor Police Station.
