Udupi: Former Int’l Athlete Veronica D’Souza Inaugurates Half-Marathon to Katapadi

Udupi, 09 Jan 2013: The former international athlete Veronica D’Souza inaugurated half-marathon from Shankarapura to Katpady, near here on Wednesday January 9.  The marathon was organized as part of golden jubilee celebrations of SVS Alumni Association, Katpady, here.

 
SVS Alumni Association president Prem Kumar presided the inaugural function here on Wednesday morning. 

 
SVS Alumni Association golden jubilee celebration Committee honorary president K Satyendra Pai, TP member Srikar Anchan, Katpady gram panchayat president Vinay Ballal, former president Srikar Suvarna, Shankarapura Rotary president Henry Castellino, Antony D’Sa, Subhas Ballal, Mohammed Nayeem and others were present at the occasion.

 
Dileep Mattar, student of Hindu Junior College, Shirva bagged the first place in men’s division of half-marathon.  Gangadhar Mattar (second) Prashant Kunjarugiri (third) Rajesh Ambady (fourth) and Touhid Shirva (fifth).

 
Navya Katpady bagged the first place in women’s division of half-marathon.  Saroja J N Nagar (second) and Prabha Shetty (third).
