M’lore: Two killed, eight injured in accident

Mangalore, 30 Sep 2012: Two persons were killed and about eight persons were injured when a 407 goods tempo transporting people, from a work site over turned and fell on the railway tracks from an over bridge at Baikampady on Sunday night.

 

The deceased have been identified as Ramesh and Harish from Belthangady, hospital sources said adding they were dead when they were brought to the hospital. The identity of the injured, some of whom have been injured seriously, was not known. Locals who saw the accident rushed to the spot and helped those trapped inside the vehicle. There was no movement of any train on the tracks, a goods railway line.

 

Panambur police rushed to the spot and helped the injured to the hospital. Initially it was thought than more persons may have been killed as they had been unconscious due to the impact.
