Record seva for Kukke Subrahmanya temple

Mangalore, 28 May 2012: Kukke Subrahmanya Temple near Mangalore has erased its earlier record 1,800 Ashlesha Bali seva performed on a day three years back, by recording 2,076 seva on a single day on Sunday.

 

With two auspicious occasions converging on Sunday, Jyestha Shuddi and Ashlesha Nakshatra, the temple town was jam packed with devotees. More than 25,000 devotees had a darshan of the deity. Apart from 2,076 Ashlesha Bali, more than 350 naga pratisthe and 170 poojas were also performed on Sunday. The bali seva was performed from 6 am to 11.30 am.

 

The crowds was such that there were four rows extending to a kilometer from the temple for the darshan and also receive prasadam.
