Udupi: Cricketer Shrishanth in Kollur

Udupi, 09 May 2012: Indian cricket team’s ace fast bowler will be undergoing surgery to his knee on 22nd may and for this purpose he came to Shri Mukambika Temple Kollur and offered special prayers. During the world cup last year his mother Savitridevi had owed that she will conduct thulabhara with sugar in Kollur for his best bowling. To fulfill that Shrishanth had come to Kollur and conducted thulabhara. On this occasion he offered an silver statue to Devi.

 


 
Speaking to the press reporters Shrishanth said that, currently he is having pain in his knee for which he will undergo surgery on 22nd May in England and for this he has offered special prayers to Kollur Mukambika Devi. He regretted for not able to play for Rajastan in the IPL T-20 matches and he is more unhappy that the doctors have told him that he should take 6 months rest after the surgery. Therefore he will not be able to play in World Cup during September. But he will be available for the Australian tour in December, he said.


 
Rajastan Royals captained by Rahul Dravid is playing wonderfully and it is the favourite team to win T-20 this time, he said. Though he is Keralite Shrishanth spoke in Kannada, said that on Sunday when he travelled from Bangalore to Mangalore Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda was in the same plane and shrishanth spoke to him. He told him about his knee surgery and the Chief Minister wished him good luck, said Shrishanth.


 
Shrishanth said that he and his family are the strong devotees of Mukambika Devi and they visit there often. His mother has said that she will offer one gold coin each to every wicket by Shrishanth and accordingly she came recently and offered the gold coins, said Shrishanth. Along with him his cousin brothers Abhishek and Sarvesh also had come. Temple Trustee Krishnamurthy Adiga welcomed him upon arrival and Archaka Suresh Bhat conducted the religious ceremonies and Pujas.
