Moodbidri: Woman killed, body found on terrace

Moodbidri, 22 April 2012: The body of a married woman was found on the terrace of her house at Bodyugudde in Nellikaru Gram Panchayat limits on Sunday.

 

According to police, the deceased is Prema (44), wife of Nagappa. The incident came to light, when a family member had gone to terrace to check on the water level in the tank.

 

It is said that since there are few marks on her neck and her clothes were found in a bucket near the house, there are possibilities of rape before murder.

 

It is said that Prema and Nagappa were at home on Saturday night while their daughter Jayanthi, son Jayakara along with their grandmother had been to watch a play near the house. When all the three came home, only Nagappa was at home.

 

When Jayakara asked about the whereabouts of his mother, Nagappa said that she too must have gone to watch the play. However, even after seven, she did not return home. Later, they found the body on the terrace. A case has been registered.
