Manipal, 27 February 2012: BJP candidate Sunil Kumar contesting the by election for the Udupi – Chickmagalur constituency submitted his nomination on Saturday. Earlier it was announced that the nomination will be submitted on 29th February. But on Saturday morning unexpectedly without any noise along with the 3 – 4 local leaders he submitted his nomination to the Deputy Commissioner Dr. T.M. Reju who is also the Election Officer.
Though he is the designated BJP candidate, so far the party B form has not been issued to him. In order to avoid any technical reasons there is practice of submitting more than one dummy nominations in the days after submitting the real nomination. So Sunil Kumar has submitted the nomination in the same manner and another nomination he will be submitting on 29th February along with the state leaders as announced earlier.
As recommended by an astrologer in accordance with the horoscope, it was decided to submit on Saturday and as per that Sunil Kumar has submitted the nomination. On this occasion his wife, Udupi BJP’s senior leader Somashekara Bhat and other 4 – 5 party workers were present.
During the submission of the nomination the media were not allowed to go inside Deputy Commissioner’s office and were forcefully sent away by the D.C. who said that there is no provision for media coverage of the nomination as per the election commission rules. Previously all nomination submissions were pictured, which was told to D.C, but he did not agree to allow them inside.
