Manipura: Government High School Celebrates Annual Day

Manipura, 28 January 2012: Government High School Manipura celebrated its Annual Day on 16th January, beginning with the flag hoisting by John Sequeira – President of rotary Club Manipura. The prize distribution ceremony was conducted in the afternoon and the chief guests present were; Upendra Kini – Executive Director of Union Bank of India, Sakaram Shetty Dendur Katte, Ravi Poojary Kurkalu and Shaban Byari.

 

 

 
Schools new stage was inaugurated in a function presided over by Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon. The stage was donated by S.M. Shetty who inaugurated it and said that the Parents and Teachers should give good guidance to the students. The bacic facility should be provided by the government, then a good society can be built, he said.

 
Chief guests of the function included Jilla Panchayath Member Ida Gibba D’Souza, Taluk Panchayath Member Gurudas Bhandary, Manipura Grama Panchayath President Haji Hassan and other dignitaries. The program was compeered by Sushma N. and Lalitha. Nivedita welcomed the guests and the gathering.  Govinda Bhat presented introductory note. Leelavati proposed vote of thanks. Students presented various dance programs and then Yakshagana was played.
