Udupi: Kanthappa Master Awarding Ceremony

Udupi, 28 January 2012: When anyone wears the Yakshagana Costumes, they cannot be an artist. To be a complete artist one has to have intense interest and make deep study. The awards in Yakshagana should be given to those artists who really work hard for it and not anyone apply for it, said Udupi Tulu Koota President Dr. Baskarananda Kumar.

 

 


 
He was speaking in the Thonse Kanthappa Master’s awarding ceremony function.On this occasion the 2012 Kanthappa Master award was given to popular Tabor (Maddale) player Katapadi Shankara Acharya. In the program M.I.T. Lecturer S.V. Udayakumar Shetty, Awrd Committee President Ambathanaya Mudradi, Vice President Thonse Laxmikanth, Kallianpur Grama Panchayath President Janardhan Thonse and Sanjeeva Bannanje were present.


 
Committee Secretary Thonse Jayanth Kumar presented introductory note. Pushkal Kumar welcomed the guests and the gathering. U. Duggappa proposed vote of thanks.
