Udupi: Lions Int’l Foundation grants $1.50 lakhs to District

Udupi, 20 December 2011: Lions International Foundation’s L.C.F. Grant has released to  Lions district 324-4, U.S. Dollars 1.50 lakhs and these funds will be reserved for various educational and social service activities including professional education, said Lions District Governor Jayakar Shetty Indrali. Already 3.80 crore funds have been received from the International Lions Foundation to the Lions district and has been utilized for the development of School, Eye Hospital and Health Centers. Now more funds have been released, he said during the press conference by Udyavara Lions Club.

 

 
Lions has observed the World Peace Day and in the district 1.50 lakh persons have conducted oath. Through the various Lions Clubs of the district 8 houses have been constructed with a cost of 8 lakhs, there is plan for the construction of more houses. With the leadership of \lions Club group Insurance policies have been implemented and already 20,000 persons have been provided with Insurance, he said.
 

In the press conference Former Governor Jayakar Shetty Kundapura, Local President Dinesh Bangera, Zonal President B.S. Umer, Suresh Prabhu, Girija Shivaram Shetty, Shwetha Jayakar Shetty, Udyavara Lions President Shekara Anchan, Secretary Shivashankar and George Samuel were present.
