Kurkalu: Kambala contributed for survival of Tulu

Kurkalu, 28 November 2011: The Kambala which is taking place in the Tulunadu every year has contributed in the survival of the Tulu language and it has become possible for the growth of the native culture, said Teacher Sooda Rithesh Shetty. He was speaking in the concluding ceremony of the annual Kambala in Kurkalu fields organized by Kurkalu Shri Saralu Dhoomavati Temple Pattachavadi.
 
Speaking further he said that, since the youths of the Tulunadu are not showing anymore interest in the agriculture the fields can be seen everywhere and the buffalos can be seen only during Kambala which takes place once in a year. Chief Guest of the program Journalist Rakesh Kunjoor spoke on the occasion and said that, the support of Tulu origin people from Mumbai is enormous for the preservation of the Tulu culture.

 

 
Other Chief Guests present on the dias were; Vishwanath Prabhu Palame, Vinod Shetty Kalya, Surendra Poojary Shirva, Prakash Kumar and Yashvanth Kotyan. Kurkalumane Dinesh Shetty welcomed. Raghuram Shetty compeered the program. Kurkalumane Udaya Shetty proposed vote of thanks.
