Udupi: Winners of various athletics and sports competitions

Udupi, 27 November 2011: In the district level sports competitions organized by the Udupi Jilla Panchayath and Public Education Department at Koteshwara, Kundapura Taluk, Udupi’s St. Cecily’s High School Student Sandra Jones have won the first place in Girls Shot Put and Discus throw competitions and have been selected for the state level competitions.

 

 
 
 
Udupi, 27 November 2011: In the State level spots competitions for the under 14 years held at Onake Obavva Stadium in Chitradurgaconducted by Public Education Department, Glanish Pinto of St. Mary’s High School Udupi has won second place in Boys Badminton Shuttle comnpetition and has been selected for the National level competition which will be conducted in Pune, Maharastra. Recently he had won the under 13 years state level competition held in Shivamoga.

 

 
 
Udupi, 27 November 2011: Arunakala Rao, resident of Guddeyangadi, Bommarabettu Grama of Hiriyadka, has won first prize in 5,000 meters, 1,500 meters, 800 meters running competition and second prize in long jump in women’s 55 years category in the 7th Udupi – Dakshina Kannada masters Athletics Championship held in Mahatma Gandhi District Stadium and has been qualified for the state level competitions.
 

 

Udupi, 27 November 2011: Hiriyadka Government P.U. College student Jyothi has won the Individual Championship with first prizes in 800 meters, 1,500 meters, 3,000 meters running race in the District level Sports meet conducted by P.U. Education Department. Earlier she had also won first prize in 1,500 meter running race in Taluk and District Dasara sports meet. She had also played a crucial role in winning the bronze medal in 4x400 meter relay in Zonal sports meet.
