Udupi: St. Mary’s School excel in Table Tennis tourney

Udupi, 26 November 2011: St. Mary’s English Medium School has won the third place in the state level table tennis tournament held in Chickballapur. Total 34 teams from all over the state participated in the knock-out type tournament, the main players Shriram Kamath (9th Standard), Kshitij T.S. (8th Standard) and Kowshik H. (9th Standard) of St. Mary’s School competed in the tournament and have succeeded.

 

 
The teams from Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Chikkodi and Belgaum were in direct contest in the group B, in the semi final in a tough battle Udupi team lost to Bangalore South team and stood in third place. In the tournament Bangalore South, Mysore and Udupi teams have won first, second and third places. St. Mary’s English Medium School has been competing at state level from several years regularly in table tennis and has been identified at state and national level and this time has made good progress at state level.
