Udyavara: Traffic Jam on Pangala Bridge by Heavy Trucks

Udyavara, 15 November 2011: On the National Highway 66 with the movement of the various trucks carrying heavy loads, the Udyavara – Pangala bridge gets into traffic jam for hours together every day and the travelers face inconvenience, which has become a common scene now a days. The trucks carrying huge steel materials, container trucks for the various companies involved in road construction projects find it difficult to enter the highway and even Udyavara – Pangala bridge.

 

 
On one side the widening work of the highway is taking place, but still the narrow bridge will have to be used by the highway vehicle drivers. So it is as if the huge container trucks occupying the bridges all the time. Once the huge container enter in to the bridge then either side traffic movement is difficult, and whenever the container vehicle gets stuck in the bridge the traffic gets jammed in few kilometer length for hours together.
 
When such traffic jam occur, the drivers who are in hurry and the express buses which leave every 5 minutes will lose patience and sometimes they get into arguments and even tussle which will make the situation even worse. Only after the interference of the police the traffic could be cleared. Unless the movements of these trucks carrying huge materials for the construction work is avoided, such discomfort and difficulties to the travelers and the drivers will continue.
 
The public are in the opinion that these companies should transport such huge materials for the construction during the night time to avoid such problems on the highway and the bridge.
