Manipal, 17 October 2011: A management student of Manipal was robbed by 4 people on broad daylight in Shathinagar, Badagubettu Grama. The student Anurag Watts was going in his car from Manipal to a nearby place called Manchi in the afternoon at 1.00 pm. At that time when a car came from opposite direction he went to the side of the road to give way but the car got into drainage gutter. While he was trying to bring up the car, 4 people for another car which came there helped him to bring the car up.
 
As Anurag was thanking them for their humanity, they started beating him up and stole his wrist watch, 3 gold rings, mobile and Rs. 2,000 cash. They also snatched his pan card, driving licence, car registration documents and college Identity card. Also they snatched his ICICI Bank ATM card and forcefully took the pin number from him. Later they fled and from some ATM they have even cashed Rs. 22,000 from his account. So all together the total value of items robbed from his is Rs. 56,000, as per the case registered in Manipal Police station according to the complaint given by Anurag.


 
 
Malpe, 17 October 2011: An elderly man committed suicide in Kola on Sunday. The deceased Vittala Poojary (60) was missing from the place where he was sleeping, in the morning, so the others from his house searched for him and then found him hanging from the branch of a mango tree near the house.
 
As per the complaint given by his relative Ashok Kumar that, he was suffering from various sicknesses, so disgusted from this he must have killed himself, the case has been registered in Malpe Police Station.


 
 
Shankaranarayana, 17 October 2011: A young woman accidentally fell into the well and died in Halnirujeddu of Albadi Grama on Sunday. The deceased Namitha (23) is the daughter of Shekara Kotari. In the morning at 8.30 am she was trying to catch the calf which had gone into the farm, but while the calf ran towards the well chasing it Namitha slipped and fell into the well.
 
Immediately the neighbours pulled her out of the well and admitted her to the hospital, but the doctors checked and found that she is dead. As per the complaint given by her younger brother Naveen Kotari the case has been registered as unnatural death in Shakaranarayana Police Station.


 
 
Kaup, 17 October 2011: A woman died in Mallaru Grama with a bike colliding with her on Saturday. The deceased is Puttamma Nayak (40), who was going walking near the bus stop in front of Government College at 7.00 pm. At that time the accused Glenwil Roy Lobo was coming fast on a bike and dashed her, resulting severe injuries to her head.
 
She was taken to the hospital by the locals. There the doctors checked and confirmed that she is dead. As per the complaint given by a local person Umesh the case has been registered in Kaup Police Station.
