Acharya orders Panchayath works to complete by Dec.

Udupi, 16 October 2011: Jilla Panchayath Engineering department works has been released with 1.5 crore rupees and non-program works has been released with 4.28 crore rupees. All the works allotted in these grants has to be completed before December, ordered District In charge Minister Dr. V. S. Acharya to the Officers. He was speaking in his presidential address in the Karnataka Development Program quarterly meeting, on Saturday.

 


 
Udupi Paryayothsava will be conducted in January, for the convenience of the guests arriving to D.K. - Udupi on this occasion, the National Highway and the main roads of the district has to be repaired, he instructed Lokopayogi department Engineer. He assured to write to the Chief for allotting special grants for this purpose. He instructed Paurayuktha to repair all the roads of Udupi city by November. Paurayuktha said that in Udupi Municipality jurisdiction the tender has been called for the repair of the roads of 35 wards with a cost of 85 lakhs rupees. He also put forward his requisition for an additional 3 crore rupees grant.
 
Minister said that the District complex in Manipal is already completed and will be inaugurated in November. All the District offices of the department will be shifted there in next month. Bus facilities from the rural areas to the new Deputy Commissioner’s office will be arranged, he said. Total 24.75 acre land has been reserved for the housing in Hirebettu, Kaltur, Belapu, Bairampalli, Hosur of Udupi Taluk, Hombadi, Mudadi of Kundapura Taluk and Kadthala of Karkala Taluk. The housing will be arranged and the documents will be distributed to the ones allotted. Proposals are getting ready for identifying more government land for this purpose, he said.
 
In the meeting Udupi MLA K. Raghupathi Bhat, Kaup MLA Lalaji R. Mendon, Kota Shrinivasa Poojary, Jilla Panchayath President Katapadi Shankara Poojary, Municipal President Kiran Kumar, Taluk Panchayath President Devdas Hebbar, Chief Officer Prabhakara Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Dr. M.T. Reju, Jilla Panchayath Social Justice Committee President Upendra Nayak, Education and Health Committee President K. Babu Shetty, Agriculture and Industry Committee Savitha Shivanand, were present.
