Udupi: Rajiv Gandhi remembered

Udupi, 23 May 2011: “Rajiv Gandhi who sacrificed his life for the country, had initiated many programs for the development of our country. In order to encourage the youths into politics, Rajiv Gandhi revised the age for voting as 18 years. He also got India into the group of developing nations and his contribution to the country is enormous” said Udupi Block Congress President Pramodh Madhvaraj.

 

 

He was speaking at Jilla Congress Bhavan in a assembly on the 20th death anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi. In the assembly Former Minister Jayaprakash Hegde, Party leaders Harish Kini, Umesh Nayak, Dinesh Putran, Krishnamurthy Acharya, Amrath Shenoy, Sadashiva Kattegudde, Shashiraj Kunder, B.K. Somanath, Kushal Shetty, Baskara Rao Kidiyoor, Habib Ali, Shabbir Ahmad, Jayashree Krishnaraj, Murali Shetty Indrali and others were present.

 

Block Congress Chief Secretary Ramesh Kanchan compeered the program.
