Harsha Gupta is new DC of Dakshina Kannada

 

Mangalore, 28 Mar 2013: Harsha Gupta, a 1997 batch IAS officer, took over as the 124th deputy commissioner of DakshinaKannada district here on Thursday. He succeeds N Prakash. Harsha Gupta was labour commissioner at joint secretary level prior to his current posting. He was promoted to officiate in the supertime scale of IAS on December 31, 2012 and is among the dozen IAS officers that Election Commission of India posted as deputy commissioners on March 27.

 

He has earlier served as assistant commissioner of Puttur revenue sub-division in Dakshina Kannada from August 1, 1999 to January 29, 2001. On arrival at the district headquarters here, Harsha interacted with senior members of the district administration led by additional deputy commissioner KA Dayanand and obtained information on the poll preparedness in the district. He is a Bachelor of Electronics in Electronics and Communications from Delhi.
