Mangalore: Vipra Samavesh at Kateel PU College on May 10

Mangalore, 23 Apr 2014: At the joint aegis of Nandini Brahmana Sabha Kateel and Mumbai-based Sanjeevini Trust, Vipra Samavesh will be held at Sri Durgaparameshwari Pre-University College, Kateel, near here on Saturday May 10.  Meanwhile, ‘Toulava Nityanustanam,’ CD will be released to observe the sixtieth death anniversary of my parents Kateel Sanjeev Rao and Katyayini Rao during the same occasion, said the renowned Tulu – Kannadiga Mumbai’s renowned surgeon Dr Suresh S. Rao Kateel.

 
Addressing the media persons here on Wednesday April 13, Dr Suresh said that Swami Vishveshateerta of Pejavar mutt, Udupi will preside the Vipra Samavesh on Saturday May 10 at 3.00pm and also release CD ‘Toulava Nityanustanam,’ said Dr Suresh.

 
The Vedic scholar Bannanje Govind Acharya will deliver lecture on Gayatri Mantra, followed by the retired Professor Vidwan A Haridas Bhat of Poornaprajna Veedyapeeta – Bangalore speak on Astakshari – Sandhya Vandane, Vidwan Satyanarayan Acharya – principal of Poornaprajna Vidyapeeta, Bangalore will speak on Devapuja Paddati (methods of worshiping God).

 
Sri Kshetra Kateel lineage managing trustee and priest K Vasudev Asranna, lineage priests K. Laxminarayan Asranna and K. Ananta Padmanabha Asranna, S. Vedavyasa Tantri, Mumbai – Vidhya Vihar Sri Ambika Adinateshwar Mahaganapati temple chief priest Vedamurti Pernankila Haridas Bhat and Vijayalaxmi S. Rao will be present during Vipra Samavesh.

 
The city’s renowned surgeon Dr C R Ballal, religious leader and philanthropist Harikrishna Punaroor, renowned organizer Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, Vedic celebrants Chitrapura Gopalakrishna Acharya, Konandoor Gopalakrishna Acharya Karkal, Angadimar Krishna Bhat Pakshikare, K V Krishna Bhat Kadandale, Tulu folk-art scholar K L Kundantaya, spiritual science scholar Nadoja Kinnikambla Padmanabha Rao and other distinguished personalities will be felicitated on the same occasion.

 

 
Dr Suresh has produced a CD ‘Toulava Nityanustanam,’ with an objective of fostering the age old practices of worship followed by Toulava Brahmins of Tulunadu that was believed to be formed by the mighty powers of sage Parashurama in contemporary times, among the new generation of Brahmins at the jet-set age where religious practices are sidelined.

Toulava Nityanustanam, CD will be available for sale at the venue.  It’s useful for all community youth especially those who pursue spiritual studies as it has info on contemporary practices followed by Toulava Brahmins from early morning worship till the sunset.
