Udupi:First ever Vespers celebrated in Holy Cross Church, Pamboor on the eve of the Annual Feast

Udupi, 11 Dec 2013: Indeed a historic day in the history of Pamboor parish on Tuesday, 10 December 2013 as the Vespers on the eve of the annual parish feast was celebrated for the first time with great enthusiasm and gaiety.

 

The  church was decorated like a bride in a myriad of coloured  lights. Celebration started with a procession  from Manasa  Rehabilitation Centre at 6.30 pm to the church. The thanksgiving prayer service was  conducted by Fr.Harry Vas, assistant parish priest of Shirva church. Deanery and guest priests were also present.

 

 

In his sermon, Fr. Harry spoke on the importance of the Holy Cross not only in the church but also in  the lives of the faithful. He spoke on how today people are forgetting the value of the Holy Cross , and emphasized on the relevance of Cross in modern times. The Thanksgiving was made more meaningful with  beautiful choir .

 

Rev. Fr.Stany Tauro, Dean of Shirva Deanery  shared his message  of love and reverence to the Holy Cross. The Vespers was followed by  wonderful fireworks show. The ICYM also conducted may games.

 

The  solemn Feast Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, 11 December 2013 at 10.30 pm.
