Karkal: Distinct Architecture of Temples in Adapady – Palli Beckons Devotees; Dr Veerendra Heggade

Karkal, 15 Feb 2013: The historical temples and even small temples in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district are being developed.  More opportunities are opening.  The businesses are thriving.  Whatever we have offered unto God is returning in double fold.  The distinct architecture of the temples of Adapady – Palli beckons the devotees, said Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala.


 
Dr Heggade was speaking on his visit to Umamahewari and Durgaparameshwari temple, Adapady – Palli, here on Thursday February 14, to attend fifth-day of Brahmakumbhabisheka and Shatachandiyaga, after inaugurating newly-built Chandrashala (Rajagopura) at the temples.


 
‘Whoever visits the temples here, likely to come back along ones family purely due to divinity,’ said Dr Heggade.

 


 
The former MLA Sunil Kumar in his chief guest’s address said that Rajapur Saraswat community in the coastal district has enriched religious practices and culture, while the developments at Adapady temple proves their religiousness, said Sunil Kumar.
Karkal MLA H Gopal Bhandary in his presidential address said that the temple developments that are taken place in a short time owing to active participation of Rajapur Saraswat community.


 
Dr Heggade felicitated vastu expert Gopalakrishna Jois, sculptor Kuppuswamy, Narayan Acharya, Ganesh Acharya and Rama Nayak, the temple managing trustee Pundalika Nayak, MLA H Gopal Bhandary and the former MLA Sunil Kumar  at the same occasion.


 
ZP president Upendra Nayak, Sakaram Shetty Dendoorkatte, Dhananjay Amin Petri, entrepreneur Sweeker Nayak, Mahaveer Jain and Balakrishna Nayak were present at the dais.


 
Kadari Ravindra Prabhu welcomed the gathering.  Pundalika Marate delivered the introductory address.  Hariprasad Bhat, Vishnuprasad Bhat, Subramanya Bhat rendered the prayers.  Harish Nayak Ajekar compered the programme.  The teacher Umesh Nayak proposed vote of thanks.


 
Free food offerings to innumerable devotees were held after the religious celebrations – Brahmakumbhabishek and Shathachandiyaga at the temple.


 
Kataeeldappe Ullalti, Tulu mythological play by playwright Kadri Navaneet Shetty was staged on Thursday night.
