Mangaluru, 19 Apr 2020: The city will have fish stalls in different locations that would sell fish brought from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Gujarat and Goa from Monday, April 20 night; as Covid-19 nationwide lockdown will be lifted partially.
MLC Ivan D’Souza had urged DK district administration to allot specific spots to put up fish stalls to sell fish brought from neighboring states amid Covid-19 lockdown. Fish is the staple food of the coastal residents that goes along with a few dishes of vegetables in their daily diet.
Meanwhile, MLC D’Souza along with DK district fish merchants Association president Mohammed Mustafa and office bearers visited the earmarked spots by fisheries department to put up stalls for selling fish as it would be boon for people to buy the same in their locality rather than travel to main fish market at the heart of town.
The local leaders Pius Monteiro, Manuraj, Habibulla and others were present.
