Dubai: Vamanjooreans in UAE celebrate Monti Fest

Dubai, 17 Sep 2017: The Vamanjooreans living in UAE celebrated their Nativity Feast or Monti Fest at Bangalore Empire Hotel, Karama Dubai on Friday, September 15.

 

There was a gathering of many parishioners who celebrated the event in the traditional manner by prayers, singing hymns, offering flowers followed by drinking Novem. It’s a rare opportunity to meet and greet the fellow parishioners. The programme started by a hymn ‘Sakkad sangatha melyan’ and by offering flowers to Infant Mary followed by prayer and then led by the cultural program and Noven Jevan.

 

All the gathering offered flowers to honor Infant Mary and participated in the prayer. The chief guests were Benedict Pinto Abu Dhabi, Dayan D’Souza Mukamar and Joseph Mathias.

 

The founder president Jerald Lobo and current president Johnson Monteiro were present on the dais.

 

 

There were many games, songs, quiz and lot more was organized for the crowd. Games were such as Housey Housey, Spot games etc… Dance was performed by Feat Beat Art Centre. Beautiful songs were sung by Lynal Monteiro, Avith Lobo, Joel Pinto, Priya Menezes, Joyline Pinto, Lancy Noronha, Melwyn Dsouza and Flavan Dsouza. Baila Session was conducted by youth of Vamanjoor. Jokes were performed by Lynal Monteiro, Joel Pinto, Joyline Pinto, Rakesh D’Souza, Ullas Menezes, Elvira Crasta, Delton Miranda. Sounds by Lovelyn, DJ by DJ Norman, Keyboard by Deepak Machado Abu Dhabi, Photography by Rohil Lobo, Floyd Kiran Moras and Praveen Rodrigues. The program was conducted under the leadership of Joel Pinto and supported by Joyline Pinto and Lunal Monteiro.

 

Traditional food was served to the gathering in a traditional way.

 

The programme was a grand success. Many Vamanjooreans as well as others were present for the program.

 

The programme was concluded by the Parton hymn Saan Zuje.
