Pioneer of Jasmine Farming Theresa Passes Away

Karkal, 01 Nov 2013: Sixty-seven-year-old Theresa Mendonca, hailing from Shankarapura in Udupi district, wife of Louis Mendonca, parishioner of St Joseph’s parish, Belman, near here passed away due to brief illness at 1.00am on Friday November 1.

 


 
Although Theresa lost her husband early, she tried to substitute her income by jasmine farming that she learnt in her household.  She is the pioneer of jasmine farming who introduced sericulture in Belman locality.


 
She is survived by her daughter Anita Coelho, settled in USA.
