New Delhi, 24 August 2011: Anna Hazare, whose fast entered the ninth day on Wednesday, refused to be put on a intravenous drip despite doctors advising him to do so once again on Wednesday morning, his close associate said.

"Anna has refused to take the IV drip after doctors advised him to take it following a check up this morning," activist Manish Sisodia told reporters in New Delhi.

He has lost another 200 grams in the past 24 hours with his weight settling at 66.2 kg. He was 72 kg before he began his fast on August 16.

His blood pressure was recorded at 104/86 while blood sugar was 106 and pulse rate 82.

Hazare on Tuesday disregarded doctor’s advice to be put on Intravenous (IV) drip and refused to take any medicine and warned government against trying to forcibly evict him from the protest site of Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi.

The team of doctors headed by Naresh Trehan had advised Hazare to get hospitalised but the Gandhian refused to do so.

"The entire team has examined Hazare. There are changes in his vital signs. We told him that he needs hospitalisation. But he refused saying I want to be here with the people," Trehan had said.

One of the basic principles of ethics in Catholic religion is \"end does not justify the means\". Therefore, it does not ordinarily permit euthanasia, killing, divorce so on and so forth. When there is a constitution in a country and all the elected representatives have sworn to uphold the constitution, an unconstitutional authority wants to impose its views on the elected goverment without debating and putting to vote in the houses of parliament and we as general public support it, then we are creating anarchy in the country which ultimately will lead to military rule or imposition of emergency because the government is bound, under oath, to uphold the consitution. \"As you saw, so you will reap\". We have been for decades nurturing corruption by bribing every one we met on our way to avoid hassles, delays and financial losses, whether while dealing with customs, income tax, to obtain different types of licenses, property registrations... the list is endless. So, we have put ourselves in deep stincking shit and now we want to get out of it hanging on a bare tiny thread called \"Anna Hazare\"! I am sure even Mahatma would not have supported this movement if he lived today. God save us!
