New Delhi, 05 August 2011: A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) trooper shot dead a female colleague at the Yamuna Bank metro station here Friday morning.

He then turned the gun on himself and sustained severe injuries, police said.

The incident happened at platform number 2 of the Yamuna Bank metro station in east Delhi between 7.30 a.m. and 8 a.m., said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police B.S. Gujjar.

The woman was identified as constable Teja while the assailant was constable Pillai. Pillai later shot himself in the chest with his service rifle. "During preliminary investigation, we found that there was some personal dispute between them," said Gujjar.

They were both taken to a hospital where Teja was declared brought dead. Pillai’s condition is stated to be critical.

Teja was leaving for home after her night shift while Pillai had come in the morning when he opened fire at her. They had joined the CISF in 2009.
